Trans Iowa Checkpoint #2

George just text messaged me from checkpoint #2 in the Le Grand area and said that he’s with Endurosnob and Jeremy. They were riders 13, 14 and 15 into that checkpoint. He’s eating some pizza and drinking a coke right now before they head out again.

I just got a call from George a minute ago and he is about 25 miles out from the second checkpoint. He has no cell coverage, but one of the other racers allowed him to use his phone as they were walking one of the “B” roads. His quote of the day…

Iowa is NOT flat, honey!

Hoping that either he gets some coverage or that he can give me another call to update. If you’ve been trying to follow Guitar Ted’s audio blogs, they seem to be on the fritz for now, unfortunately.

A big THANK YOU to Hawaiian Island Creations

Just wanted to give a big thanks to one of my sponsors, Hawaiian Island Creations. They’ve kept me set on sun protection since my 2008 season and Brandy just called to tell me that another shipment has arrived at the house. Brandy and I have both tried out a number of sunblock products over the years with disappointing results. We needed something that was sweat-proof and could hold up for an all day epic ride on the bike.
