Marathon RAGNAR runner moves over to REV Energy from CarboPro

Last week I had a new customer, Melissa come in looking to purchase REV Energy. We had a discussion about her running events and her previous fuel of choice, CarboPro. She has run marathons and RAGNAR races in the past. Melissa has used REV Energy from a friend on a few runs in the past now it was time to commit to a purchase. The screen messages that follow represent her experience after a 20 mile run. Can you imagine the trust she must have had in using REV Energy before she set off to do a 20 mile run?

Melissa : 20 mi run yesterday. 5 scoops of REV and 2 scoops of Tailwind in 20oz bottle that fits into pocket of runinrabbit.com tank.

REV Cycling: Thank you for your photos!  How was your tummy?  How was the taste?  How was your energy level through out the 20 mile run?

Melissa: Tummy was perfect! Taste was perfect. Tailwind is very sweet so I load up on REV Energy [sic] and add Tailwind for electrolytes and some additional carbs. Energy was great. Finished stronger than I started but I also added in some caffeine mid run with Cliff blocks.

REV Cycling: That’s one of my favorite sayings to those that I mentor “It’s not how fast you start but how strong you finish”

Three last questions (for now 😊) : 1. Were you a former CarboPro user? 2. How do you feel about using REV Energy now as a replacement fuel?  3. May I use your photo for my testimonial page?

It’s a great photo by the way 😊

Melissa: Yes, I was a former CarboPro user. I feel very good about using REV Energy as a replacement and will be using in my upcoming marathon.

Yes, you may use my photo.

Cycling Coach discovers REV Energy as a great fuel

Cody came to me as a referral from one of the athletes he coaches. The discussion that follows is one we had after a couple of weeks of using REV Energy as his fuel for cycling.

Cody: I’d like to get some more, do you sell larger sizes ever?

REV Cycling: You wouldn’t believe how much objections I get about the 3 pound container that I have now 😂

Cody: People need to ride more! 😂

REV Cycling: 100%

Cody: It’s really great though, had 300g on my ride yesterday 😊

REV Cycling: How many hours? At what intensity? And how was your stomach?

Cody: 5 hours @245w

Absolutely 0 stomach issues

Very smooth energy as well

I did one very concentrated bottle and supplemented with water

Worked perfectly!

REV Cycling: That’s what I do for my long unsupported rides. I put 10 scoops or 1000 calories (250 grams per bottle) in each bottle. I nurse them throughout the day.

I topped them off with water when I stop no longer than 60 seconds and back on the bike

Obviously, it depends on the weather if it’s hot I can’t do that so I may just do 250 g of carbs in one bottle and the other one is freshwater

Cody: It’s really ideal that it’ll dissolve down in a bottle like that. So much less of a hassle. I hate having to stop too / carry lots of stuff

REV Cycling: It takes a while to get the 10 scoops in the bottle because you have to put some powder in put some water and shake it up put some more powder in put some more water in shake it up, etc. but eventually it all is a very nice fluid and not thick and gooey

Cody: Yup! I found the same

Can just keep adding powder as you dilute it with water

Really cool

REV Cycling: But I’m sure you noticed that it was not therapy even though it was concentrated yes?

Cody: Yeah! Really unique

Ive tried similar with just average maltodextrin and it turns into like a really noxious sludge

Awful to consume haha

Where as this was still super liquid

REV Cycling: I think it’s awesome that one of your athletes that you coach recommended that you give Rev Energy a try

Cody: I thanked them too! I’ve tried a lot of different things over the years but definitely have found rev super uniquely good. I’m going to recommend other folks try it too

Cyclist loves REV Energy’s lack of flavor!

Kaydean was referred to me from a long-term user of REV ENERGY. Scott was previously a CarboPro user. Kaydean loves how easy it is to use REV ENERGY. In her words, she says she loves how REV ENERGY is flavorless. she just adds it to whatever she wants to drink and off she goes. It’s given the confidence to pursue more climbing in her cycling.

Another former CarboPro Gravel racer user switches to REV ENERGY!

When Amy came to me frustrated that Carbo Pro had gone out of business I offered her REV ENERGY as a solution. You can see from the following text messages that she is not only happy with REV ENERGY but now she wants to send me two referrals.

Another former CarboPro user approves of REV Energy as his fuel source!

JC came to me after having run out of CarboPro. He asked me how close the formula of REV Energy was to CarboPro. I told him he can trust REV Energy to taste and perform exactly as he would expect CarboPro to. It is exactly the same formula.

Last Saturday he did a 200 mile event and contacted me out of the blue to tell me the following …

Triathlon coach and team captain of Oceanside Multiple Sports Group OMG

I’ve know Jondi for many years. I have sold him and his team nutrition products. One I launched my REV Energy Carbohydrate Fuel I wanted him to try it. I have established trust with him over the years. I gave him 2 containers. One for him to try and one to divvy up with his team members. This was our text exchange…

A new customer discovers REV Energy

I suggested David use REV Energy instead of or in addition to GU Roctane. His initial response was “I get such good pricing I have so much of it. I’ll try REV Energy when I run out of the GU stuff”. I bided my time but followed up with him several more times. Finally, he “Ok ok George I will give it”. This was the text we had when he finally trusted me to use REV Energy.

Former CarboPro user discovers REV Energy

Isaac has been coming to my shop for service on his bike for a couple of years. I was so proud of him when he got his “Pro card” as a triathlete. The other day we were talking about his nutrition plan for his upcoming race, Dec 8,2024. We were chatting about getting 120 grams of carbs per hour. I mentioned using REV Energy so he could get the carbs without being overburdened by abundance of flavor that might come from concentrating his current fuel. On my suggestion he went out on a race simulation workout and these were his thoughts after completing the workout.

A little history, years ago he used to use CarboPro but they went out of business and he had not found a viable substitute. But now he has and we are both excited about the possibilities for him!

Old friend new REV Energy fan!

Johnny is an old friend and customer of mine. I did a significant service on his bike for an upcoming 70.3 triathlon. In our casual conversation I thought to ask him about his nutrition on and off the bike. He said he has gone plant-based and he’s happy with how he’s been feeling. But then he confessed to me that he really doesn’t have handle on his on-the-bike nutrition.

It was at that point that I dug in a little deeper with questions such as:

1.How many calories/grams of carbs are you targeting per hour?

2. How are you accomplishing that?

3. How do you feel during?

4. How do you feel after?

Turns out he didn’t really have a good idea of how much he takes with him, how much he uses or a target calorie/grams of carbs. He was also drinking straight water in his bottles. I gave him some basic advice to start with. He weighs about 195 (88.5 kg) I suggested he start with 200 calories per hour or 50g carbs. On a two hour ride he can put 2 scoops of REV Energy in each 26 oz bottle (200 cal/50g carbs) and be good to go. On a 3 hour ride he can bring 2 gels with him and he’s golden.

My plan for him is to work on 200 calories/50g carbs and slowly bump him up over time to 300 calories/75g carbs per hour which is more appropriate for his weight and race intensity.

Attached you will find my follow up text conversation with him.
