Cody came to me as a referral from one of the athletes he coaches. The discussion that follows is one we had after a couple of weeks of using REV Energy as his fuel for cycling.
Cody: I’d like to get some more, do you sell larger sizes ever?
REV Cycling: You wouldn’t believe how much objections I get about the 3 pound container that I have now 😂
Cody: People need to ride more! 😂
REV Cycling: 100%
Cody: It’s really great though, had 300g on my ride yesterday 😊
REV Cycling: How many hours? At what intensity? And how was your stomach?
Cody: 5 hours @245w
Absolutely 0 stomach issues
Very smooth energy as well
I did one very concentrated bottle and supplemented with water
Worked perfectly!
REV Cycling: That’s what I do for my long unsupported rides. I put 10 scoops or 1000 calories (250 grams per bottle) in each bottle. I nurse them throughout the day.
I topped them off with water when I stop no longer than 60 seconds and back on the bike
Obviously, it depends on the weather if it’s hot I can’t do that so I may just do 250 g of carbs in one bottle and the other one is freshwater
Cody: It’s really ideal that it’ll dissolve down in a bottle like that. So much less of a hassle. I hate having to stop too / carry lots of stuff
REV Cycling: It takes a while to get the 10 scoops in the bottle because you have to put some powder in put some water and shake it up put some more powder in put some more water in shake it up, etc. but eventually it all is a very nice fluid and not thick and gooey
Cody: Yup! I found the same
Can just keep adding powder as you dilute it with water
Really cool
REV Cycling: But I’m sure you noticed that it was not therapy even though it was concentrated yes?
Cody: Yeah! Really unique
Ive tried similar with just average maltodextrin and it turns into like a really noxious sludge
Awful to consume haha
Where as this was still super liquid
REV Cycling: I think it’s awesome that one of your athletes that you coach recommended that you give Rev Energy a try
Cody: I thanked them too! I’ve tried a lot of different things over the years but definitely have found rev super uniquely good. I’m going to recommend other folks try it too
